Prior to dipping the Shibori piece into the indigo vat, the Shibori piece is immersed and soaked in water.
Ingredients for the indigo vat: indigo powder and mordants.
YAYOI SHIBORI uses the following mordant combinations: sodium hydrosulfite with soda ash and fructose with calcium hydroxide (slaked lime).
